Mingzhe(Mick) Wu is a junior at Ames High School. He participates in his school’s Symphonic Band, Philharmonic Orchestra, and Jazz 2 band. Studying clarinet under LuAnn Ewan, he was selected to play in the Iowa All-State Honor Band for two years and has won several Division 1 awards at his school’s Solo Ensemble Contest. Outside of music, Mick participates in Team Neutrino—his county’s local FRC robotics team—and plays for the Ames High Boys Tennis Team. After high school, Mick hopes to go into a STEM-related field.
