Inspiring Youth Through Music
The Central Iowa Wind Ensemble is proud to invest in the future of music through the Aimee Krug Memorial Student Solo Competition and our Youth Band Festival. These educational initiatives celebrate musical excellence, inspire artistic growth, and provide meaningful opportunities for young musicians to learn, perform, and be inspired.
The Aimee Krug Memorial Student Solo Competition recognizes outstanding high school instrumentalists, with the winner earning the opportunity to perform as a featured soloist with the Central Iowa Wind Ensemble. Our Youth Band Festival brings nationally recognized composers and clinicians to Central Iowa, giving student musicians the unique opportunity to work directly with leading artists while fostering a lifelong appreciation for music-making.
